How To Wake Up Easily In The Morning By Creating A Self Care Morning Routine

Do you struggle to get up in the morning? I feel you! I use to be the exact same, I loved staying up late so it was normal for me to have less sleep than recommended most nights, I was exhausted most days and I struggled to wake up and get out of bed in the morning, I would snooze so many alarms and end up rushing about in the morning and leave the house without eating breakfast which would then force me to eat less healthy options at work. Then I done something that changed my life, and I am sharing secrets with you on how to wake up easily in the morning feeling great!

I tried so many different methods and tips to help me wake up early, but NOTHING seemed to be working! That’s when I decided to really analyse my routine and how I spent my time, so I made a list of reasons why I wanted to wake up early in the mornings – my goal was to wake up at 5:30am every day except a Sunday which is a no alarm day

This list included many things such as;
  • To make me feel more productive
  • To have a better day
  • Have time to eat breakfast
  • To feel happier and less anxious
  • To not feel stressed in the morning
  • Have more time to blog
  • Better self-care
  • Better wellbeing
  • Get more done
  • Have time to exercise

The most important thing for me that really got me excited about waking up early in the morning though was the thought of having time to myself as I very rarely had any time alone. I would go to work and spend the day with my colleagues then come home and spend the evening with my boyfriend and at the weekend his little girl. I am not saying I don’t love spending time with my family or friends because I do but I also loved the idea of spending quality time with myself too, and I realised that the mornings were the only time I could dedicate that time to myself. That is when my mindset changed, and I instantly started to become excited about swapping late nights for early mornings

Pin for later!

I created a high vibe self-care morning routine and challenged myself to wake up at 5:30am for one week, that gave me three hours that I could make a priority for myself. I kept a tracker in my journal and wrote down some thoughts and feelings I had early in the morning

The night before I started the challenge was easier than expected I knew if I wanted to wake up early and not feel tired I had to discipline myself and change the time I went to bed,  so instead of going to bed after midnight I went to bed at 9:30pm and was quite surprised that I fell asleep pretty quickly! I was woken up at 5:30 with the sound of my new high-vibe alarm tune which I set at the other end of the room (so I had less chance of hitting the snooze button!) The first thing I do when I turn off my alarm is stick the heating on and make a nice cup of tea which sets me up for the morning

I have noticed so many positive changes in my life – I have more energy, I feel much more relaxed throughout the day, not as stressed and feel happier because I dedicate a few hours in the morning for myself to do the things that make me happy such as meditation, yoga, blogging and journaling. Even friends and family have made comments about how happier I am now, and I know that is from putting myself first and creating the ultimate self-care morning routine!

I never thought I would say this but I now LOVE waking up early in the morning, there is something special about being awake in the morning when it’s still dark, there’s no traffic on the roads and the world is still quiet, it is just bliss! I couldn’t have done it or felt this way about waking up early if I didn’t change my mindset first

Here are my tips for anyone who wants to wake up early or take on the 5:30am challenge;
